Please read this important info.
artistwebsite.com does not endorse any events listed. Advertisers do have the option of advertising an event in the entertainment industry, but any ads on our site will not be listed on this page. Ads are given high level status on the site to attract a larger volume of traffic for the advertiser. Events listed here are sent to us and the purpose of this page is to share information that might be helpful to actors.
Attend events at your own risk. Listings here are public information that can be found on other industry related sites as well.
If you are new to the industry, the vendors and exhibitors at industry events will typically try to sell you a product or service that relates to acting or film/tv production. If you are asked to pay a fee by someone claiming to be a manager and also making claims that they can help you get work as an actor, be aware that in most cases, actors are disappointed with the results they get from these types of services. If the vendor or exhibitor appears to use hype as a way to get you excited, this is a red flag. You can contact our office and ask for FREE advice. The purpose of our website is to combat high priced managers that are only in it for the money. Do not allow anyone to use your dreams to become an actor as a way to extract thousands of dollars from you. If a so called manager quotes you a high fee and then tells you that your headshots are not good enough, they will most likely send you to their own headshot photographer that also charges high fees for their service. If the headshot photographer does not work for the so called manager, the photographer in most of these cases, gives a kickback to the manager. Legit headshot photographers that do good work, do not need a manager to refer business to them. Actors that are satisfied with their headshots because they landed a real manager or agent and then went on to get acting jobs, are the best way to get a referral for a good headshot photographer. If you are or have been taken advantage of by a manager or agent, please contact us so we can report them, or you can report them to SAG and other industry organizations.
